254: False Accession with Susan & Clark Gabriel
Susan and Clark were married in 1985, three months after they met. Six weeks after the wedding, Susan's daughter was taken away by social services and Clark was accused of sexually molesting Susan's 9-year-old daughter from her first marriage. Susan was told she had to force Clark to move out and support the allegation or she would never get her daughter back.
The situation went from bad to worse to truly bizarre. Most relationships would not have withstood the stress, but instead of caving to the pressure, Susan and Clark fought back against the system, became activists, and started a national movement for family preservation. Thirty-six years later, they are still together living live in the country outside a small town in north Texas with their four chihuahuas.
Their story is told in Susan's recently released book Wheels of Injustice: Saving My Child from the Child Savers.
