The Kingdom of God is good news to conservatives because it is the original, unchanging, perfect institution whose teachings ought to be resolutely preserved. Human institutions at their best reflect some aspects of God’s nature. But since human institutions are made and run by sinful humans, they are never above reproach, and we must never place our total hope and trust in them, lest like the Pharisees we end up protecting traditions of men instead of God.
