Julia Buckley (@jbuckleylabour) is currently standing as the labour candidate for Shrewsbury and Atcham.

Julia’s working life has included 20 years experience as a funding specialist in local, regional and EU level government, securing funding grants for deprived communities, environmental sustainability and supporting local business growth. In her workplace she is also an active UNISON steward and has experience as a Labour party Councillor.

The daughter of a coal miner from Selby, Julia currently works for Wolverhampton Council and on bids for European grant funding – the last of which have now been concluded.

Julia previously worked in Brussels for five years, where her office was next to the late Jo Cox, who was an assistant to European MP Glenys Kinnock at the time.
