Positive thinking doesn't mean that you completely disregard any negative thoughts. Negative thoughts can give you something to reflect on and possibly help you to shift your perspective when needed. However when the negative thinking goes too far, it can be damaging. You can get stuck on a loop of negative thoughts and end up in a pretty dark or chaotic mindspace.
Infusing positive thinking into your life helps to shift the energy and level up the frequency. The law of attraction insinuates that positive thoughts and actions will reap positive outcomes. That means the more you stay positive, the more positivity will flow to you.
1. Flip The Script: Learn to catch your negative thought loops while they're spinning. Slow things down by writing them down, then for every negative thought, write the opposite of that thought and train your brain to look for the positive instead of the negative.
2. Write Yourself Notes: I like to use dry erase markers on the bathroom mirror or sticky notes in the car. Writing yourself little notes of uplifting encouragement can help you to maintain a positive mindset by having constant visual reminders around.
3. Affirmations: Studies show that one of the best ways our brains learn something is by using repetition. Affirmations are a great tool to help you find the positive and stay focused on the good. Use this episode, or if you'd like just the affirmations on repeat you can head over to youtube (the link is below) or even record some of your own and repeat them while your in the shower, or the car, or while you're making breakfast.
