Today I’m joined by Reverend Jay Waxenberg, an interfaith minister and spiritual counselor at Boulder’s Center for Medicinal Mindfulness. In this episode, Jay talks about how his interest in understanding reality as a boy led to his study of consciousness, his exploration of psychedelics, and his introduction to spirituality. We then talk about Ram Dass and the lessons Jay learned from Dass on his own journey. Next, we discuss best practices for psychedelic harm reduction and how psychedelics can be integrated with other spiritual practices. From there, we talk about the difficulties associated with conducting research on psychedelics due to their Schedule I substance designation, and how that has impacted Jay’s work in the DMTx research project. We end the discussion talking about Medicinal Mindfulness and the help they’re providing for spiritual explorers looking to safely work with psychedelics. Outro for this and all episodes is available at entangledpodcast.substack.com. Please enjoy!
