27. Client Story Unmasked: Mary's journey through intense anger, health issues, career change and a children's book creation
Mary's transition to Motherhood came with huge challenges including severe bouts of anxiety and grappling with intense anger and rage.
She was adamant her experience could be better and started intentionally prioritising her joy and pleasure, putting herself first and rejecting the notion that a Mother must sacrifice all of herself to be a good mum. She has also experienced a big shift in her career choice - from teaching in mainstream schooling to now supporting families with their unschooling journey.
Since then she has penned her first picture book with her co-author Jessie called ‘The Mum who Found her Sparkle’ due to be released in June 2023. It follows a Mother who goes on an adventure to find her lost Sparkle. They recently raised $8000 in a Kickstarter campaign and even though this is a picture book for the
kiddies, it is very much for the Mamas of the world too.
Mary shares so openly and honestly about her transition into motherhood and her journey with matrescence. I have no doubt you'll be able to see parts of yourself within Mary's story
