Back in May of 2020 I was laid off with 7,000 other employees during the pandemic. I decided that I didn't want to go back to the corporate world again. The reason why was because companies didn't care about their employees. As far as I could see, company executives never valued their employees in any work situation that I was in. They would have a beautiful mission statement that was aligned with my values, but the actions of managers, executives and HR did not match the mission statement in each situation. Then in April of 2021 the great resignation started and it continues on even now. I pivoted Mood Connect's mission to create healthier workspaces and our customers are now businesses who are ready to work on their customer retention, adopt wellness programs for their employees and start valuing their employees, building healthier teams, increasing their profit, and growing their company.
