Who is Miranda? An who gave them the right? Technically, the Constitution gave them the right, but at one point in history, not everyone was aware of their rights upon arrest. Nowadays, reciting the Miranda Warning to ourselves feels more like we're quoting a crime show then remembering that we have the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney - since anything you say can and will totally be used against you.
