#27 Why You Can’t Stop Thinking About Food (It’s Not Willpower)

It’s not about willpower.


In this episode, I’m walking you through why your brain sees food as safety, how scarcity (real or perceived) increases food noise, and why tightening control actually increases dysregulation.


I’ll also explain why in my original method, Nervous System-Led Food Freedom, we don’t micromanage food. We create safety.


We zoom out and look at regulation as a whole — breathwork, reducing overwhelm, consistent nourishment, nervous system support — because when safety builds, urgency softens.


Not because you forced it to. But because your nervous system no longer feels threatened. If you’ve ever tried to “be good” and it didn’t stick, this episode will help you understand why.

I’m Eileen Mitchell, RYT-500, Holistic Health Coach, Intuitive Eating Counselor, and creator of the Nervous System-Led Food Freedom Method.
