Hi, everybody. George is on his own this week to welcome Dr. Charles Coletta back to the show. Charles is a professor in the Department of Popular Culture and the School of Critical and Cultural Studies at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. In keeping with our travelogue summer, we talk about his adventures on Turner Classic Movies cruises and film festivals plus his recent trip to Italy. On top of all that, Charles tells George about his friendship with iconic, award winning actress Eva Marie Saint (who just celebrated her 100th birthday on Independence Day) and the upcoming conference on soap operas in pop culture at BGSU scheduled for the last weekend of March 2025.
For information about the Department of Pop Culture at BGSU, go to https://www.bgsu.edu/arts-and-sciences/cultural-and-critical-studies/popular-culture.html
Charles is the person behind @DrPopCultureUSA on the site formerly known as Twitter.
