Today marks the 25th anniversary of the movie Forrest Gump.
It was July 5, 1994 that Forrest Gump debuted in theaters nationwide. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, the movie was based on the 1986 novel Forrest Gump by Winston Groom. To this day Forrest is an iconic figure of our popular culture and one of the most beloved characters of all time.
I invite you into the home of Winston Groom who was kind enough to have me on a very hot April day in Coastal Alabama. Forrest and Winston have a lot in common. Both of them are natural storytellers. Neither has much pretension. Both can say without a doubt "at least I didn't lead no humdrum life."
