In this episode I connect with a nurse. She is and has been working as one for over eight years. She has been a part of many units as a nurse and has been subjected to repeated traumatic events. Covid also played a major role in a significantly challenging period of time on our nurses and health care practitioners overall health.
She faces burnout and shares openly acknowledging her own PTSD that formed as a result of years of work place trauma. The story shares immense vulnerability and reflection as she acknowledges how the PTSD started off with minor symptoms. It eventually lead to complete burnout and overall degredation of her own mental health.
Her aim is to share how she has challenged herself to now accept what happened to her and what she is doing in order to better her overall health!
