Everyone I know works really hard. Some people work two jobs while single parenting kids plus they are working on their dreams. If we grind hard, we need to chill hard. This keeps us productive when it is time to grind again. On todays episode, we are going to talk about setting up the perfect chill space so you can rest from all that grinding. Let's dig in...

PROBLEM: People need to fucking chill out

  • People are stressed: Episode #21 - #23 75% of adults report symptoms of stress. 80% of U.S. workers say they experience stress on the job. 50% OF U.S. adults say that stress has negatively affected their behavior.
    • People Don’t Take Breaks: Article from Washington Post, “What does America have against vacation?”
    • America does not mandate vacations like most other countries. 
    • Survey or more than 2000, 54% — reported feeling guilty about taking vacation time.
    • 55% of Americans did not use all of their paid vacation time.
    • 70% of respondents admitted to checking in with their workplace from vacation at least occasionally.
  • People are not even breaking during the day: 
    • Article from NPR, “We're Not Taking Enough Lunch Breaks.”  1 in 5 five people steps away for a midday meal. Most workers are simply eating at their desks.
  • Problems with mental Fatigue
    • Article from health line, “How to ‘Unfry’ Your Brain.”  You might also experience other changes in mood or emotions. Cynicism, apathy, lack of motivation, and trouble focusing can all be signs of an overworked brain.


SOLUTION: Be intentional about your chill space so you can take a brek

    • Movement breaks for your physical and emotional health
    • Breaks can prevent “decision fatigue.”
      • Breaks restore motivation, especially for long-term goals.
    • Breaks increase productivity and creativity

  • Designing your own break room!
    • Free from work and life distractions
    • Relaxing environment: candles, wine, comfortable lounge furniture.
    • Make your bedroom your most chill space of all
