In defining what kind of man he wants to be, Myles Markham decided to seek out strong feminist and postcolonial voices of women of color in opposition to the toxic masculinity he saw in the culture around him. I talk with him about his coming out journey, defining healthy masculinity, and finding belonging.
Myles is a community organizer, theology nerd, and is working on his MA in practical theology at Columbia Theological Seminary. He identifies as a trans-masculine mixed-race Asian American and Pacific Islander who is passionate about racial justice, LGBTQ inclusion, and building cross-identity coalitions that lead all of creation to experience health and wholeness.
