As we near election day and in light of the protests, rallies and social outcry against racial injustice that have made headlines over the past several months, many have asked me where I stand. It has probably also prompted many white Americans to consider—perhaps for the first time—the advantages they've benefited from all their lives. Today, I am opening up about my own struggle to understand my own white privilege and what I have done and have failed to do in the fight against racial injustice. I'm sharing a personal story that I am sure is riddled with imperfection, but it is my story, my journey and I am bearing it all.
