Let’s be honest. When things are hard and we seem to be losing on every side; when everything goes wrong and we are unable to change the circumstances in which we find ourselves it is easy to think God has left us alone. He has turned His back. He isn’t paying attention right now. This Psalm cries out for God’s attention – to wake up. Yet, listen closely to the last line – rescue me because of Your unfailing love. Love never fails. God never fails. We can depend on it.
