Sts Simon and Jude were Apostles - 2 of the twelve that Jesus hand-picked as his closest companions. They travelled together to teach the Gospel of Christ. Simon the Zealot first believed firmly in following the Mosaic Law, but after he met Jesus, he followed Jesus and His teachings. Jude taught the people that they should stand firm in their faith, even though they might suffer many trials in their lives. He is popularly known as the saint of lost causes.
