It is almost Christmas and I am in that weird in between time where the city feels half asleep and everything feels a little softer. Last night I went to Jan and Jackie’s Christmas show at Red Eye. Tonight Darius and I are doing a candlelight concert with traditional Christmas songs. Tomorrow I head to Pittsburgh for a few days and I am already thinking about my mom’s food and also missing my man.
Then we get into the emails. What I know now that I wish I’d known then. Love that feels like a performance. The difference between peace and settling. Why silence at work costs you. And why missing someone does not mean you should go back.
