No Ordinary Women

29: Highway of Tears

Listen Later

Rose tells us about the Highway of Tears which is a 725-kilometer stretch of highway in British Columbia, Canada, where many Indigenous women have gone missing or been murdered since 1970. The area is remote, and issues like poverty, drug abuse, and domestic violence make the situation worse. Many of these issues can be traced back to the residential schools and abuse that Indigenous people suffered. It's time to bring attention to this ongoing tragedy and demand justice for the victims and their families.
