What is the Church – and what was it never meant to be?

In this episode, we challenge modern assumptions about church attendance, worship, and community by going back to the biblical concept of ‘ecclesia’: a called-out people, gathered with purpose.

We explore why Scripture places such heavy emphasis on assembling together, why Jesus Himself made synagogue worship a habit, and why the idea that “I can worship anywhere” (instead of church) falls short of the New Testament vision of the Church.

Drawing from Scripture, Church history, and early American life, we argue that the Church was never meant to be optional, individualistic, or consumer-driven – but formative, communal, and mission-oriented.

This is not a call to preserve modern church formats – but to recover the Church as Jesus intended it to be.
