Session 296 – Dreams, Comics, and Caribbean Vibes

Recorded on October 24, 1966, Session 296 is a wild ride through the mechanics of reality.

Before we get spooky, just a heads-up: this podcast is distributed free of charge on all major platforms for educational purposes. Now, let’s see what Seth has to say about manifesting your own reality and playing psychic detective.

Manifesting the Side Hustle

It turns out Joseph (Robert Butts) didn’t just get a surprise job offer from his old pal Bill Ward; he actually "dreamed" it into existence. Seth points out that our wishes and attitudes aren't just thoughts—they're the blueprints for our physical life.

  • Dreaming Reality: Joseph had a dream about returning to comic work months before it happened. Seth explains that the dream was "loaded with psychic energy, and literally produced reality."
  • The Power of Choice: Seth reminds us that Joseph created the opportunity just to see if he could handle commercial art on his own terms.
  • A "Dutch Uncle" in NYC: Seth even saw a specific office on 42nd Street and a "portly man with short gray hair" who could become a mentor if Joseph kept up the hustle.

The Deep Stuff: Past Lives and Sacrifices

Seth doesn't shy away from the heavy topics. When discussing the passing of Wendell Crowley’s daughter, the insights go full "soul-contract" mode.

  • Role Reversal: Seth drops a bombshell that the girl was once her father’s mother.
  • Quote: "The Crowley girl, for various reasons, sacrificed herself for her father. At one time she was his mother, and she did this with full inner knowledge."

Psychic Travel Agent: The Gallagher Nassau Hits

While the Gallaghers were chilling in Nassau, Seth was apparently floating right alongside them, picking up some seriously specific travel data. Robert Butts evaluated these hits and found over 40 correct impressions.

  • The Green Cabaret: Seth identified a "green cabaret" where a "nuisance" occurred. Turns out, the Gallaghers visited a club called Drumbeat (which was green) and were annoyed by a loudmouthed Englishman whistling with the band.
  • The Queen’s Staircase: Seth saw a circular formation with steps and flowers. The Gallaghers confirmed they climbed the "Queen’s staircase" to a circular water tower surrounded by blossoms.
  • Spooky Plane Vibes: Seth picked up numbers related to their flight and the pilot.
  • Quote: "Something twirls and goes past. 3 7 8. This could be time, in connection with an airplane. A dismissal of some kind."

The Envelope Experiment: Art Supplies and Showers

Jane (Ruburt) did a blind reading on a sealed envelope containing an art bill. Seth’s impressions were like a psychic collage of everything happening in Joseph’s life at that moment.

  • The Jungle Gym Bill: Seth described an "airy design" with "thin lines" and "cubes" that reminded Jane of a Jungle Gym. This perfectly matched the layout of the bill from The Art Shop.
  • Ablutions and Festivals: Seth mentioned "washings" and a "festival-type thing." This was a direct hit on the comic work Joseph was doing—the pages featured a heroine in a shower, and the accompanying letter discussed a big dinner party.
  • Quote: "A rather airy design, with cubes predominating, and thin lines. These reminding Ruburt of a child’s Jungle Gym."

Final Vibes

This session proves that your thoughts are far more "solid" than they seem. If you want to dive deeper into how you’re accidentally (or on purpose) building your world, you absolutely need to study the Seth Material books.
