The Order of the 9th Hour and Great Vespers on the Second Saturday of the Great Fast, welcoming the Sunday commemorations of the Resurrection (in Tone 2) and of our Father among the Saints, Gregory Palamas: this the 2nd Sunday of Orthodoxy. Last week we celebrated the Triumph of external orthodoxy and the use of icons in our worship. This week we celebrate, through the person of St Gregory, the triumph of internal orthodoxy and the hesychast approach to inner life, with particular attention to the Jesus Prayer.
