This week Tim and Katy talk to Andy and Shay who run an initiative called Mental Health Friendly whose aim is to help people with mental health conditions to learn English. If you're interested in contributing to the crowdfunding campaign for Mental Health Friendly or want to volunteer to teach the groups mentioned in the podcast, you'll find all the necessary information below:

Volunteers Wanted:
For the past five years under the umbrella of Mental Health Friendly, and in close collaboration La Federaciò de Salut Mental Catalunya, a handful of teachers here in Barcelona (and now Sabadell!!) have been trying to improve access to quality English Language Training for people suffering/recovering from serious mental health problems. We have also been trying to raise awareness within the classroom of the importance of mental health issues in an attempt to reduce stigma, promote greater social inclusion and prioritise practices to protect and help the mental health of the population in general.
Opportunities and support exist for teachers wanting to help with this initiative, in particular we are looking for teachers who are able to spare one hour or more per week giving pre-prepared English classes (El Maletín Pedagógico) in Social Clubs run by la Federació de Salut Mental. These clubs are dotted around Barcelona and throughout Catalonia. If you are interested in volunteering for this particular initiative or helping in any other way, then please contact andrewdoddfreelance@gmail.
