Topic: Count It All Joy (During The Test)
Quote: Find Joy In The Journey
“ Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,” (James 1:2) “ For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,” (Romans 14:17)
Based on the above scriptures each of you Neighbors that come to share with us on #ThePorch (be it your first time or yet another time) are probably fortunate enough that you have never faced trials and tribulations that tested your faith. We are on a journey; life is a journey. Once you are born into this world your journey begins. Seems like the quote provides us good advice (find joy in the journey). The BELIEVER's INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH (BIBLE) tells us that a man born of a woman will have trouble. But that same Great Book also tells us to count it all joy. So why is it so hard for us to find joy and be joyful while we are going through. I mean why is it that most everyone you know (not you of course) has great difficulty in going through trials.
Life is supposed to be full of fun and enjoyment, right Sounds nothing like the second scripture above Romans 14:17. We are here to promote and advance Kingdom Business. GOD doesn't mind if we enjoy ourselves along the way. And we shouldn't mind if we have to experience less enjoyful times along the way. However, Most Christians tend to want to not have to go through anything. While yet going through most of us are saying, "GOD get me out of this." Not many of us are saying, "GOD help me to be a blessing while I am going through." How many times have you heard someone saying, 'I have a strong faith'? Then that same person when a storm happens; a trial or a tragedy, they lose it. Truth be told if you haven't had your faith tested, you have no clue what status or level of faith you have. Athletes have to build up endurance. Same goes for Christians; Believers; Children of GOD. How many of you need to find joy in the midst of your trial, your circumstance, your season of still going through? Neighbors I know for me my own self I stand in need of learning how to, when to and why I must count it all joy. So if not you, you have to know some Neighbors who are not able to be joyful when the lights are cut off; when the termination from a job is real; when a loved one is dying or is living a defeated life; when bullying is a part of everyday school life; when being someone's punching bag just got old. This episode is for those Neighbors that don't remember that trouble don't last always; that don't care to hear that this too shall pass. So you can know to share this 2UpLiftAll Podcast with them, we invite you to listen too. You may be delightfully surprised that you too benefited from this week's episode and hopefully feel compelled to share it with your Neighbors.
Are you able to count it all joy when various trials come your way? Do you find it hard to believe that trouble will pass away? Are you ready to have your faith tested?
When you hear the conversation between myself and this week's #Neighbor2Neighbor segment Guest, Ms. Joi Ford you will be drawn to seek #MasonJarWisdom and to trust GOD when you are going through. Neighbor Joi dedicated many years to teaching America's Youth. She felt led to reach youth in a different way. She stepped out on faith and created The Joyriffic Band (seeks to educate children ages 3 to 10 with music and songs.) Since that decision, Neighbor Joi has endured many tests and trials of her faith. Her name seems to be a set up for how she journeys through life. When we shared with her that James 1:2 was the scriptural basis, Ms Joi's response, "That is what I tell myself always." She is transparent about the struggles she has endured. You too...
