Divorce is often a taboo subject in church, one, because it marks a personal failure in a sacred area, and no one wants to be reminded of failure. Two, because the stories of how a couple came to divorce is deeply personal and often uniquely specific, so how can we lump everyone into the same category? Yet, Jesus doesn’t divert from difficult topics; He addresses it in a straightforward manner.
