Butch Chaffin has a list of 45 "Signs Your Hitter Is In Trouble". Here are the first 10 signs.

  1. He hits with his toes pointed out. Duck Feet. Especially back foot.
  2. Starts with no bend in his knees and finishes with no bend in his knees. Too tall.
  3. Uses arms to push hands back. Load to arm bar.
  4. Creates a false load.
  5. Back and Chest start straight up and down with no tilt toward plate.
  6. Falls into tilt.
  7. Tips barrel in front of face / Bad barrel control.
  8. Bad barrel tip / loses barrel.
  9. Front Eye leaves the zone. Hands & shoulders work as 1.
  10. Violently snaps the head on pre-contact.
