5 NAILS ON THE CROSS

Oswald Chambers - “All heaven is interested in the cross of Christ, all hell is terribly afraid of it, while men are the only beings who more or less ignore its meaning.”

1 Cor 1:18 “...the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing…”

BILLY GRAHAM -“Once you have been to the cross, you will never be the same.”

MATTHEW 27: And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom;(60’ long, 30’ high, 4“ thick; took 300 men to carry it) and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

“The message of the cross is so Divine and so full of Devotion that it DEMANDS MY LIFE, MY SOUL and MY UNDIVIDED ATTENTION.”

THE TWO NAILS IN HIS HANDS(MY MANDATE)

John 10:28 I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand.

John 20:25 “...So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

John 20:27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving but believing.”

POINT: His Hands were FORCED ON THE CROSS so that OUR HANDS would be made FREE TO MINISTER TO OTHERS.

ASK: When was the last Time You Touched God by Touching Others?

THE NAIL ON HIS FEET (MY MESSAGE)

Is. 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who walked about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

HIS FEET WERE PINNED TO A WOODEN CROSS, SO THAT OUR FEET WOULD PREACH TO THE WOUNDED LOST

John 13:12 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?

John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

Eph. 1:22 - And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, When was the last time we used our feet to approach a friend with this Gospel Message?

THE NAIL ON THE SIGN (MY ENEMY)

Matt. 27:37 And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

GOD WOULD TAKE WHAT THE ENEMY MEANT FOR SHAME TO BRING A MESSAGE OF HOPE TO PROCLAIM

Col. 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

REMEMBER JOSEPH

Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.

THE NAIL OF THE LAW (MY FREEDOM)

Col. 2:14 All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.

BOTTOM LINE: THE LAW THAT WAS NAILED TO THE CROSS REMINDS ME OF MY FREEDOM!
