DAY 2
SILENT SATURDAY
It’s the Day of the Grave…They place Jesus in the tomb… then…Contemplation…Temptation…Frustration…No Revelation
That Initial Shock has taken place;
The Promise now has been suppressed
The Music has stopped…It’s Silent
Some are paralyzed…Mary’s traumatized…
Peter Denies…John Weeps & Sighs
QUESTION:
WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE?
Matthew 27:62
The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. 63 “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’ 64 So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.” 65 “Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.
THE ENEMY DESIRES TO…
1. SIFT you – PETER
Luke 22:31 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. "But I prayed for you that your faith fail not."
2. SEAL you – JESUS
Matthew 22:66 So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.
3. SLAY you
1 Peter 5:8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
DAY TWO – WE HAVE TWO CHOICES:
1. BE IN HASTE and be SEALED by the enemy
2. BE AT REST and be HEALED by our God
GODS WILL FOR US
Luke 23: 55
The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed Joseph and saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it. 56 Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
