3 Explosive Questions for “Bible Only” Christians.
(Please be intellectually honest and consider the possibility that your answer might not be a strong one)
1. Who assembled the New Testament and how do we know that person was right with the books and epistles they chose and excluded?
2. Who interprets the Bible? And how do we know that person is right?
3. Where does it say in the Bible that all Christian teachings are explicitly found in the Bible?
My commentary:
Rarely do “Bible Only” Christians examine their own assumptions and doctrines. Catholics are often bombarded with questions about the Pope, Mary, The Saints, Purgatory, etc but we never get to ask our questioners about the very shaky, illogical premises of “Bible Only” Christianity.
There 40,000 different branches of Christianity exist because there are many different topics in which different Christians hold different views. Jesus never handed us a Bible. Nor did Jesus say to make a New Testament. A book cannot interpret itself. Scripture cannot interpret Scripture. Who interprets the Bible and how do we know they are right? where does it say in the Bible that all Christian teachings are found in the Bible?
Many of the premises of Bible Only Christianity are logically incoherent.
