Fact or fiction?
This is quite interesting.
So, picture a spectrum, on one end we have fiction and on the other end, we have facts.
When we absorb media, content, or information, we need to consider where it falls on this spectrum. Is it a fact? Is it fiction?
By reminding ourselves to think about these things, it forces us to rationalize the information we are absorbing. So often, do we hear something and immediately think it is true. Immediately, we join the bandwagon because that is what everyone else is thinking. Or, immediately we are sold because some people are awesome at convincing and persuading. However, if we take time to think about our spectrum, and where this information falls, then we can protect ourselves from instant and mindless persuasion.
