John the Baptist was divinely appointed to testify about Jesus Christ, the true light of the world. While John was a significant prophet, his role was to point others toward Jesus rather than himself. Jesus, as the light, brings spiritual sight and eternal life to those who receive Him. Though many rejected Him, including His own people, those who accept Christ become children of God not through heredity or human effort, but through divine grace and faith.
