John's third epistle, written to a son in the faith named Gaius, provides for us three character sketches to learn from. John expresses his joy that is a result of Gaius' faith in action. He encourages Gaius to continue walking in truth, warns him against a leader in the church named Diotrephes, and commends Demetrius as a godly example to follow.
