This weekend we continue in our series called, MISSION CRITICAL. We continue to unpack our new mission statement which is; We are a church on mission to raise up disciple-makers who share the gospel where we live, work, and play. This week we look at another passage that unpacks a little more of the mission we are on.
In 2 Corinthians 5 the apostle Paul talks about the posture he takes in engaging others with the message of the gospel. He pursues the mission with passion. His enthusiasm to reach others is felt in this passage. He goes after the people he is called to with a deep desire to reach them. He knows they have a deep spiritual need and that they were designed to know God and be reconciled to Him. He knows that the people he encounters need to experience new life in Christ. All this good news motivates him and propels him forward into the lives of the people around the world. This same motivation and passion is available to us.
When we connect to the new life Jesus calls us to, we can gain the motivation to reach others and see them experience new life in Christ. The urgency Paul had, we can have. The desire to see others saved comes as we experience new life and begin to see others the way Jesus does. Join us this weekend as we continue to unpack our new mission statement by focusing on the MISSION God has called us to.
