3 Mistakes in Approaching Blog Design :: Ted Barnett {DC ep 5}

Listen Later

I remember the early days of my blogging adventure when “blog design” simply meant uploading the most recent picture of my family for the header. Then getting the links to all my friends’ blogs to put in the sidebar. Done.
Boy, have things changed. Blogs have become super fancy and yet simultaneously stream-lined.
If you are considering a blog make-over, then I think you would benefit from today’s podcast guest and Declare Conference speaker, Ted Barnett.

Ted not only designs sites, he is a licensed counselor. His experience in talking through problems with counseling patients has given him unique perspective for the blog design process.
On today’s episode, Ted shares “3 Mistakes in Approaching Blog Design”. Fortunately, he also provides the alternatives to these mistakes.
During the interview we discuss:

* How blog design should start with a conversation
* Looking at Christ’s approach to faith when considering our approach to blog design
* Importance of considering the reader’s journey and reader’s critical decision points
* Viewing your site as your “home” rather than following trends and seeking the cool factor
