Welcome back to Tales From the Floor, where we will be talking about all things pelvic floor physiotherapy! Today, my team and I are excited to chat about pregnancy. While it results in a fabulous outcome, birthing a child is traumatic and there are so many things pelvic physiotherapy can do to help you before, during, and after the birth of your baby. Unfortunately, many new moms in Canada aren’t aware of pelvic physiotherapy and that’s why we are going to share some of the things we do as physiotherapists to support women who are about to give birth or who have already welcomed their bundle of joy.
In this episode, we will discuss the importance of knowing what it looks like “down there” pre-birth and after birth, the various things women can do to prepare for labour and delivery including stretching and practicing pushing, core strengthening, and much more. Keep listening to hear about the role pelvic physiotherapists can play in your pregnancy and join us on Facebook and Instagram at @talesfromthefloor and @abodyinmotionrehab.
Tales From the Floor is all about honest, raw, and upbeat conversations that are meant to educate, empower, and introduce you to your pelvic floor as well as the ones we visit on a regular basis. This podcast is for everyone: all genders, all ages, and all stages. No more whispering, it’s time to talk tales from the floor!
