Three individuals pled guilty to manslaughter in the killing of a French Quarter tour guide, avoiding a trial. The trio, Jerben Albarec, Joshua Bonifacio, and Kevin Nunez, were facing potential life sentences for their involvement in the death of Kristie Gioe Thibodeaux. Nunez, who was wearing a deactivated juvenile ankle monitor at the time of the shooting, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and received a forty-year sentence. Bonifacio and Albarec also pleaded guilty to manslaughter and conspiracy, receiving forty and twenty years respectively. All three defendants will be eligible for parole.
