Why should you create a personal brand?
#1 It makes you stand out from the crowd.
Your brand is your online resume and first impressions are so important. You want to make sure to be intentional about what a person is going to think and understand about you in the first few seconds of interacting with you. You want to see what it is about you that is different and makes you stand out. Something that attracts people to you.
As you are working on creating a brand, you need to get really clear on what it is that makes you stand out from the crowd. And by showing up with a professional, put together brand you are going to have that immediate edge.
#2 It builds trust with your audience.
There’s been a huge shift in advertising and marketing over the past decade. Consumers have a built-in distrust of large companies and there’s this huge push to shop small. This is why influencer advertising is so successful. As you build your brand, make sure you are building trust with your audience. Showing your face is such an important aspect of this. It’s in our human nature to trust people who we see often. You’re much more likely to trust a person that you see and interact with.
I think about the business journeys of the women that I’ve worked one on one with. They see exponential growth once they start to show up consistently and with images of themselves because they are directly building trust with their audience.
#3 It leads to opportunities for you.
When you develop your personal brand, you are showing others that you take yourself seriously and that they should too. It shows that you are in this for the long haul. You’re willing to take the time to invest in yourself and your business and they should too. This leads to speaking engagements, networking opportunities, partnerships, collaborations, and more. If you want others to take your business seriously, then you need to start by doing that yourself.
Building your brand isn’t some elusive thing that is difficult and costs thousands of dollars. You can start building it right now. And in fact you should be building it right now. One of my Brand Builder’s Bootcamp students said this, “If I would have known what Brittany teaches when I first started my business, it would have saved me so much money and so many headaches.”
There’s a simple way to do business. There’s a simple way to grow your business. Branding isn’t meant to be complicated. It’s meant to bring consistency. And consistency comes from creating a straightforward foundation that you can easily build everything else on.
Your personal brand is the foundation for your offers, your messaging, your products, your social media posts, your email campaigns, your advertisements, everything.
If you haven’t fully committed to creating the brand that is perfect for you, I want you to commit. I want you to think about wrapping up 2020 and seeing what 2021 has in store for you. Is this the year that you will take control of your business? Is this the year that you won’t be frustrated by what to post on social media? Is this the year that you’ll set out to make yourself known for something. It’s time to put a stake in the ground. I know you can do it. And I’m here to help you along the way.
