Interestingly Lewis holds a PhD in theoretical particle physics and has contributed to the scientific community in the understanding of dark matter.

But currently, Lewis is a machine learning engineer at hugging face and one of the authors of the widely popular book “Natural Language Processing with Transformers”.

In our conversation, Lewis shares how he transitioned from physics to machine learning, how he got his first data science role, which was by pure chance and the story behind his book.
