By most counts, the average U.S. household 대부분 계산을 해보면, 미국의 평균 한 가구에

Step one: Assess the damage – 손상을 평가해본다

Put everything on the table, including credit cards, car loans, student loans and even the mortgage. Consumer debt should be your first priority. 신용카드, 자동차 대출, 학자대금, 주택담보 대출을 모두 포함해서 모든 파일을 점검해본다. 그리고 소비자 부채를 1순위로 체크한다.

Step two: get to the root of the problem – 문제의 근본을 찾는다

Be honest about what circumstances or habits got you to this place. 빚지게 된 상황에 대해 나의 습관을 정직하게 돌아본다.

Step three: Make it a team effort – 혼자 해결하려 하지 말자

rather than making executive decision about where to cut expenses, call a family meeting.

어디서부터 돈을 쓰지 말아야 할지 혼자 결단하기 보단 가족들과 상의하라.
