OneGoal's Rich Robinson has Three Things to Know About... CUNY Start
1. CUNY Start is a program designed to support students who haven’t quite met the math, reading and writing requirements for CUNY’s associates degree programs.
2. CUNY Start participants enroll in either a full or part-time one semester program that helps students prepare for college-level coursework and to meet CUNY’s proficiency milestones prior to starting credit-bearing courses.
3. This program saves students money because you don’t have to pay tuition or use your financial aid for the program. There is a $75 fee, which includes all textbooks and materials and a free Metrocard. For students who only need math support, there is a program called Math Start that is only $35.
Students in CUNY Start have direct access to the ASAP program, which provides free Metrocards and books, academic advisement and free tuition to any student who receives at least one dollar of financial aid.
