These 3 elements are invaluable to your health and fitness plan. Everyone is guilty of skipping out on the warm up, the cooldown and believe it or not staying hydrated on a daily basis.
Warming up before exercise is a primer to the muscles, joints, blood and even the brain. It is an essential part of the training process to reduce the chance of injury.
Cooling down is equally as important because the body needs to return to a steady state of function. It's the perfect time to stretch out, foam roll, and lower the heart rate.
Hydration with H2O - good old fashion water - is vital to the function of the body. Joints, vital organs, the brain, - everything depends on water. I am a believer still of 64 ounces daily and when exercising that number needs to go up. Dehydration can lead to health consequences as well, so drink up.
I also touch briefly on electrolytes as part of the hydration equation, especially for intense physical activity, living in warmer climates and for those who sweat excessively.
