Controversy can come from almost anywhere. With outlets like Facebook and Twitter, even the most entertaining of topics can get out of hand. So, it’s important to understand that entertainment sits atop years of historical and cultural context. And people, because of how they fit into that history, can have visceral reactions to things that to some appear inconsequential. Questions like ‘who cares?’ or ‘why does it even matter?’ are important... They are key to understanding the discourse and exposing the larger issues at hand.
