UConn is back in the Big East, which means the Huskies are set to reignite many of the rivalries that made life in the old Big East so much fun. That includes Providence, UConn's closest geographic rival who has always frustrated the Huskies even in years where the gap between the two programs was vast.
How have the Friars fared since UConn's been in the AAC? What kind of state is the program in today? Who should UConn fans know about? Today we welcome longtime Providence Journal sportswriter and kevinmcsports.com founder Kevin McNamara to the show, and he gives us the scoop on everything Providence College basketball.
We also cover the rivalry's biggest highlights, including Kevin Ollie's coast-to-coast layup for the win in 1994, the infamous Jim Calhoun "I F'd Up" rant in 2004, and the final Big East matchup between the two schools in 2013, plus Kevin also provides some insight on Dan Hurley and Tyrese Martin from their days at nearby URI.
