Merna Liddawi is an award-winning artist and mentor. Her art is based on an ancient forgotten technique that brings natures beauty together by using genuine gold and carefully hand-made materials.

Born in Jordan, she absorbed the vibrant colors, chanting music, and smells of the Orthodox Christian family icons. She visited ancient Roman ruins which influenced her greatly. Coming from the Middle East, her path was clear: gain a Physics degree, move to England, excel at teaching math… she did it all, but then she had a divine calling.

Merna is a firm believer that art will transform and heal a person while bringing inner peace and solace to your life. Let’s face it. We are so distracted and overwhelmed by a digital age that we are often lost. We are lost in our computers, phones and other electronic devices.

Merna’s philosophy is natural but oh so powerful and beautiful. Painting for Merna is a time of prayer, meditation, and stillness. She calls these moments ‘Selah’ Moments. And her goal and mission are for you too to experience “Selah” moments in your life.

After many years including formal training (MFA), she has gravitated to using gold, earth and mineral pigments and geometry as symbols of light and spirituality. Her math training came in handy!!! Every aspect of her art is made by hand with love and care.
