Following the tragic news that Kobe Bryant along with his 13-year-old daughter, and seven other passengers passed away in a helicopter crash, I reflect on what went through my mind and what Kobe Bryant meant to me. We often feel like our emotions need to be validated by other people but in reality a little bit of empathy can go a long way. Embrace the people that you love, give a call or a text to the person that’s been on your mind, and above everything, learn from other people’s suffering and from other people’s mistakes and from other people’s losses. RIP to a great one.
