Title: 30 Ways to Write a Romantic Story
Author: Help Me Write
Narrator: Laurel Schroeder
Format: Unabridged
Length: 1 hr and 49 mins
Language: English
Release date: 12-04-13
Publisher: Piotr Obminski

Publisher's Summary:
This book is a collection of 30 different Heroine Profiles, plus some information about the Hero (the Heroine's partner) and a sketch of the plot. Those things many writers should find helpful for creating their new fiction.
The Heroine Profiles include:
her name
where she's from
something about her family
how she looks
what she likes
her style
who she hangs out with
her weakness
something about her past
her zodiac sign
about boots she owns
her hobbies
her preferred color (and why she likes it)
her pets
Then we get a little information about the Hero, including:
his name
his zodiac sign
how he looks
his hobbies
his pets
Next we learn how our Heroine and our Hero met. And then - we learn what keeps them apart. (Which is, of course, necessary for each self-respecting romantic novel.)
For whom is this book? This book is for anybody feeling the need of some ideas to start him/her writing a story. It can serve both a practicing writers with large experience, needing a quick idea, and somebody who is just starting as a would-be writer. As well as those who want a writing practice - a task, an exercise, which they would try to accomplish as good as possible.

Ideas and format are from a WSO Plot Generator Database
The idea for this book was stolen from a Romance Plot Generator Database that was sold last year through internet marketing channels to those who want to glut the market with Romance Kindle books that suck (and oddly, seem to sound like you've read it before)
Every category listed in the character profile is from that database. (as well as some of the totally stupid ideas in each category...I had a deja vu moment glancing through this, like I'd read some of these before....).
Note that the "author" didn't even provide a real name?. I wonder why he/she is not "proud" of having published a Kindle book? Calling themselves "Help me Write" is rather ironic... as this is obviously from someone who gave up on the idea of writing a romance book after perusing the plot generator..
Not worth a single star
I cannot believe anyone could take this seriously! Fortunately the book was free and hardly worth that, other than for the sheer entertainment value. I had a good laugh at the absolutely ridiculous scenarios and the very 80's wardrobe of all the heroines in the profiles.
One of the "weaknesses" of a heroine " She is deathly afraid of pink construction paper"?? Really?
She breaks up with "her hearts desire" because he always rang her doorbell twice. Need I say more?
Only useful to new writers who want to be given pre-made characters
This book might be appropriate for writers who are completely new to the romance genre and need inspiration but that is about it. The author didn't give new insights into how to write the genre of romance in my opinion.
Additionally, this book consists almost entirely of character sketches. The character sketches themselves are poor and sometimes laughably bad.
If you are a writer who is looking to be handed pre-made characters and given basic plot ideas then this book might benefit you. Otherwise, this book is a waste of time.

Full Of Ideas
I thought this book was a great resource for a new writer. Many new writers have good ideas but are not sure how to put them together into something that will be interesting to read.
