WP Engine launched site templates as a way to help their customers move faster when creating any website, and a lot of WP Engine customers are creating online course websites and learning management sites to educate their customers. So they included a few LifterLMS sites in their template setup. The WP Engine templates are built off of a theme called Genesis that has many popular child themes that offer more specific design.

You can even use a theme other than Genesis if you’d like with WP Engine. They are still a core WordPress hosting company, they just have the Genesis templates available for expediting the process. But you can always choose another theme and build things from scratch if you want to do it that way.
