LTC Doug Sweet has decided to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey of thru-hiking the 2,193 mile Appalachian Trail. As a way of making the journey be more than just a long hike in the woods, he chose to partner with Miriam’s Kitchen, whose mission is to end veteran and chronic homelessness in the Washington DC area.
