In 1999, Fox ordered a pilot from Rob Schrab and Dan Harmon, starring Jack Black and Owen Wilson. The show was a parody of 1970's action shows like Six Million Dollar Man, where Jack Black played Jack Austin, a NASA astronaut who was exposed to solar radiation and became a genius, while his best friend Doug (Owen Wilson) was merged with his motorcycle. The two traveled America solving paranormal crimes.
