In 2018, Lauren McCluskey was tragically killed by her ex-boyfriend Melvin Rowland. Despite her pleas for help, her concerns were ignored, and the University of Utah failed to take appropriate action to protect her. Lauren's death could have been prevented if only the police had listened to her and investigated her claims. It's heartbreaking to know that such a tragedy could have been avoided. Let us honor Lauren by continuing to push for these changes, and by always believing and supporting survivors of abuse and violence.
